Hamid Naseri was imprisoned for his religious belief and activity.
On March 11, 2019, authorities arrested Naseri reportedly in front of his business.
On April 26, 2019, Naseri was released on bail.
In February 2021, it was reported that Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Naseri to two years in prison for "membership in organizations that aim to disrupt national security" (Art. 499 IPC).
On July 18, 2021, Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals confirmed Naseri's sentence.
On August 1, 2022, Naseri was taken into custody to begin serving his sentence in Evin Prison.
In February 2023, it was reported that Naseri had been released from prison.
