On November 18, 2019, Federal Security Service (FSB) officers in Tyumen arrested ten Muslims, including Idrissov, for their alleged involvement in the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization. Authorities accused them of holding or participating in HT meetings, including holiday parties, tea parties, and conversations after Friday prayers, where attendees discussed religion and politics, studied HT materials, promoted HT ideas, and sought to gain new members.
On August 4, 2022, the Central District Military Court sentenced Idrissov to 11 years in prison for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).
