Danis Abdarakhmanov is imprisoned for his religious belief and activity. 

On February 27, 2018, authorities arrested Abdarakhmanov after accusing him of being involved in activities of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, including reading religious literature, attracting new supporters, and holding meetings.

On November 13, 2018, the Volga District Military Court sentenced Abdarakhmanov to six years in prison and fined him 100,000 rubles for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).

Abdarakhmanov is married with two children.
