Farrukh Mamayusupov is imprisoned for his religious belief and activity. 

On December 6, 2016, authorities arrested Mamayusupov after accusing him of being a member of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization.  Prosecutors alleged that Mamayusupov had attended meetings for the organization and studied its literature.

On June 13, 2018, the Moscow District Military Court sentenced Mamayusupov to 10 years in prison for “participating in the activities of an organization…recognized as terrorist” (Art. 205.5-2 RCC).
