Gao Yinhua was imprisoned for her religious belief and activity. 

On April 16, 2018, police in Nanchang County, Nanchang Municipality, Jiangxi Province, detained Gao and five other Falun Gong adherents as they were studying Falun Gong at one of their homes. 

In October 2019, the Xihu District People’s Court in Nanchang sentenced Gao to five years in prison.

Gao's sentence should have ended in April 2023.
