Guo Eryan was imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On August 29, 2016, Bengbu police detained Guo and other members of the Church of Almighty God reportedly in relation to their religious beliefs, shooting religious videos, and participation in other church activities.
In July 2018, the Yuhui District People’s Court of Bengbu City, Anhui Province, sentenced Guo to three years and six months in prison and fined her 8,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
Guo's sentence should have ended in February 2020.
