Ikromjon Akhmajonov is imprisoned in relation to his religious belief and activity. 

In 2004, the Fergana Region Court sentenced Akhmajonov to 11 years in prison for “attempts to overthrow the constitutional order” (Art. 159 UCC), "organizing a criminal group" (Art. 242 UCC), and an unspecified subsection of Article 244 UCC.

In 2011, authorities sentenced Akhmajonov to an additional 13 years “attempts to overthrow the constitutional order” (Art. 159 UCC), "organizing a criminal group" (Art. 242 UCC), and an unspecified subsection of Article 244 UCC. while he was detained in CEP 17 in Bukhara.

Akhmajonov is currently held in CEP 10 in Koson, Qashqadaryo.
