Li Yongqiu is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On March 24, 2018, officers from the Zhonghan Police Station of the Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau detained Li reportedly in relation to her religious belief and religious leadership role.
On September 30, 2019, the Shibei District People’s Court of Qingdao City sentenced Li to seven years and six months in prison and fined her 20,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
