On April 12, 2018, officers from the Public Security Bureau in the Mosuowan Reclamation Area detained Qin reportedly in relation to her religious beliefs.
On March 29, 2019, the Mosuowan Reclamation Area People’s Court in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps sentenced Qin to six years in prison and fined her 8,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
