Rmah Bloanh was imprisoned for his religious belief and activity.
In 2014, authorities arrested Bloanh after accusing him of organizing meetings to establish support for Degar Protestantism, a religious movement not approved by the government, and separatist activities. They also claim that he had informed overseas contacts about Montagnard prisoners of conscience.
In September 2014, the People's Court of Gia Lai Province sentenced Bloanh to eight years in prison and three to five years' probation for "undermining national unity policy" (Art. 87/1999 VCC).
Bloanh should have been released at the end of his sentence.
