Samin Maghsoudi was imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On October 21, 2017, authorities arrested Maghsoudi under unclear circumstances. She was reportedly denied access to a lawyer.
In April 2018, Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Maghsoudi to five years imprisonment for "founding or leading an organization that aims to disrupt national security" (Art. 498 IPC).
In August 2018, Maghsoudi's appeal was rejected.
On March 15, 2020, Maghsoudi was released following a state directive in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
