On April 14, 2019, officers from the Dongxiang District Public Security Bureau in Fuzhou city, Jiangxi province, detained Wang reportedly in relation to her religious belief and assisting of persecuted church members.
On an unspecified date, the Linchuan District People’s Court of Fuzhou City sentenced Wang to eight years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
