Wu Youjin is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.

On June 29, 2018, officers from the Linchuan Branch of Fuzhou Public Security Bureau detained Wu reportedly in relation to her religious beliefs, preaching, and possession of religious literature and electronics with religious content on them.

On December 17, 2018, the Linchuan People's Court sentenced Wu to seven years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).

Wu is believed to be serving her sentence at Jiangxi Women’s Prison.
