Xiong Qunqun is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On June 29, 2018, officers from the Linchuan Branch of Fuzhou Public Security Bureau detained Xiong reportedly in relation to her religious leadership role, storing religious materials, and efforts to organize gatherings and evangelizing activities. Police reportedly seized religious literature, electronics, and other items from her.
On December 17, 2018, the Linchuan People's Court sentenced Xiong to seven years and six months in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
Xiong is believed to be serving her sentence at Jiangxi Women’s Prison.
