On November 16, 2018, officers from the Gaoqing County Public Security Bureau detained Yin reportedly in relation to her religious belief and efforts instructing church members to make evangelizing videos.
On December 20, 2019, Zhangdian District People’s Court of Zibo City sentenced Yin to eight years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
