Yu Zhihua is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On August 11, 2017, authorities arrested Yu reportedly in relation to her attending of worship meetings, possession of religious materials, and preaching activities in the Baoan district of Shenzhen city.
On July 18, 2018, the Enping City People’s Court sentenced Yu to seven years and three months in prison and fined her 8,000 yuan for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
On October 22, 2018, the Jiangmen Intermediate People’s Court of the province rejected Yu's appeal.
