Zhu Guangjuan

Extra Bio Info:

Zhu Guangjuan is imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.

On August 10, 2017, the police from the Tanzhou National Security Brigade of Zhongshan city detained Zhu reportedly in relation to her religious beliefs and for contacting Church of Almighty God contacts overseas to upload the story of her persecution in 2014.

On September 26, 2018, the Zhongshan City No. 1 People’s Court convicted Zhu for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL). There is conflicting information about the length of Zhu's sentence. Bitter Winter reported the court sentenced her to a consolidated six years in prison, with other sources indicating six years and six months in prison (three years and six months in prison for this 2018 conviction, coupled with a previous 2015 sentence of three years in prison). In 2014, Zhu had been arrested and detained a month and then later given in November 2015 a suspended three-year sentence and three years' probation on the same "cult" charge for her religious activity.
