Zhu Huiru was imprisoned for her religious belief and activity.
On December 13, 2012, police detained Zhu reportedly in relation to her printing of religious materials.
On March 13, 2014, the Wuyang County Court sentenced Zhu to eight years in prison for "organizing or using a cult to undermine implementation of the law" (Art. 300 CCL).
On May 26, 2014, the Luohe Intermediate People’s Court of Henan province rejected Zhu's appeal.
Zhu's sentence should have ended in December 2020.
